<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">佛陀的十大弟子，就是常随释迦牟尼佛说法度生众生的十位著名的出家弟子：舍利弗、目犍连、阿那律、阿难陀、罗睺罗、摩诃迦叶、迦旃延、富楼那、优婆离、须菩提。这十位弟子当年都证得了阿罗汉果，全部超脱六道。他们的形象都是方袍圆领的僧侣模样。庙里大雄宝殿佛陀的两边就是他们十位大弟子，一般供奉在大雄宝殿的东西两侧。 </span>

<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">舍利弗，又称为舍利子，出生于当年印度王舍城附近的一个婆罗门教家庭，父亲是婆罗门教的大学者。因自幼受到家庭的熏陶，他对婆罗门教十分精通。在十六岁的时候已能摧伏其他的议论，能够把别人都辩下去。长大之后他与后来和他一起出家的道友目犍连志同道合，一起在当时的农村传道授业。目犍连和舍利弗两位都有数千门徒。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">有一次，他跟目犍连在外面旅行，正好遇到释迦牟尼佛的弟子马胜比丘，闻说“诸法因缘生，诸法因缘灭。我佛大沙门，常作如是说”的偈语。“诸法因缘生，诸法因缘灭”，所有人间的法，这些事情的发生，全部都是因为有因缘果报。为什么跟孩子闹，因为他是你的孩子，因为你跟他有缘分。“诸法因缘生，诸法因缘灭”，所有的事情是因为因缘而产生，到最后因缘灭掉了，缘分没了。“我佛大沙门”，佛是海纳百川。沙门是对所有出家人的统称。“常作如是说”，经常是这样说的。他们听到这四句偈，赞叹知道佛教的信仰不得了，明白原来一切都是因缘果报，便率众弟子皈依了佛门。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">舍利弗还没有出家的时候，已经是很有名望的婆罗门的觉者，他的出家使佛陀在当地的声望和威德大大增强。舍利弗皈依佛陀之后，“持戒，多闻，少欲，知足，正念正受，捷疾智慧 ……”深受佛陀称赞。他有很多的美德，尤其以智慧渊深广大而著称。佛陀讲什么话他马上明白，佛陀要做什么事情他就知道。佛经中称他舍利弗“智慧无穷，决了诸疑，辅翼圣化，聪明圣众”，所以在佛弟子中称为“智慧第一”。舍利弗跟随佛陀40多年，帮助佛陀弘法度众，对佛陀教法的传播、发展有很大的贡献。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">舍利弗有一件最难能的事情，他看到佛陀老了，知道佛陀终有一天会离开这个世界，他不舍得佛陀，不忍看到佛陀涅槃，就所以请求先佛入灭。佛陀同意了。 入灭之前他回到了阔别多年的故乡，同他80多岁的老母亲见了最后一面，并为故乡人民作了最后一次说法，然后安详地进入涅槃。</span>
