<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">富楼那出生在迦毗罗卫城的一个婆罗门长老家中，他与佛陀同日而生。佛陀在鹿野苑开始转换自己的佛性的时候，他从佛陀出家。他在佛弟子当中，“说法第一”。他和所有的佛弟子都去说法，因为他擅长说法，便成了“说法第一”。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px; color: rgb(100, 100, 100);">当时印度西部有个偏僻的“输卢那国”，在那个地方，文化非常落后，人性非常暴戾，佛法根本没办法传下去。那里的人喜欢打架、争斗、打杀，是难以弘法的地方。富楼那为了营救那里的愚顽众生，知难而进，他请示佛陀准许他去那里弘法。须菩提尊者对他进行了一番考验，知道富楼那有能够为法忘躯的精神，就同意了他的请示。临行之时，佛陀还专门为他送行。</span>
