<span style="font-size: 20px;">菩萨畏因，众生畏果。菩萨做任何一件事情，总是先考虑会有什么后果：“这件事情做了之后，会有什么果报呢？”而众生呢？只要是对自己有利益的事情，就赶快去做，做了之后有恶果来了，才担心害怕，到时才不知道怎么办了，所以众生就会没有智慧。菩萨永远不会因为很小的恶就去作，再小的坏事，哪怕一点点，菩萨都不会去犯。菩萨也不会因为好事只有一点点就不去做。众生总是认为：“这个好事只有一点点，这个不是大功德，我不做了。”“地板我不拖，我要么磕头换供果，我要做就做大功德，我要到法会上去做大义工。”而菩萨不会这样想的。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">你们知道功德是怎么来的吗？功德是累积而来的。帮众生开个门、拿个板凳，记上0.2%；给别人端碗饭、做一个菜，记上0.5%；别人想不通了，你安慰说：“不要想不通，来，我跟你一起读诵《白话佛法》，过去我也是想不通。”这也会加功德。我们很多佛友，当别人想不通的时候，他说：“我也想不通，来，我们一起学《白话佛法》。”其实他是想得通的，为了帮助别人，他就跟对方一起学，学了之后，对方反过来还开导这位佛友。你用这种妙法帮助别人想通了，就说明你已经拥有菩萨的智慧，所以说智慧就是“妙有”。你这样去累积功德，时间久了，就是大功德，功德无量。所以学佛人不能因恶小而去犯，也不能因善小而不为。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">众生因为不明白有因果，所以才会常常作恶。你今天骂人、讲别人不好、对人不友善、给人看白眼，以及损害别人利益等，都会犯下恶业。等到果报现前的时候，很多众生就会害怕、痛苦，想不通别人为什么会那样对自己。想想看，多少年了，你每天欺负他一点，欺到最后，他离开你了，你痛苦吧？痛苦是不是你每一天积累的？</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">澳大利亚曾经发生过一件事，74岁和78岁的两位老邻居吵架，就是因为门口的篱笆墙，今天你推过去一点，明天他推过来一点，然后你再推过去，他再推过来，长年累月累积的这些恶，终于爆发了。有一天，这两位老人吵架，其中一个老人拿把铲子就把另外那个老人打死了。这种恶缘是一天形成的吗？当然不是。所以说，好的缘分、善的缘分，它是一个长期的累积；恶的缘分、凶的缘分也是一个长久的累积。我们学佛做人，不要动不动就跟别人作恶，不要去损害别人的利益，你既然害怕痛苦，你就不能去种任何伤害自己和别人的因。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">我们有时受到别人的伤害，还要说：“我无语了，我问苍天，为什么？”师父在“为什么”后面给你们加几个字：为什么“我要种因”？要知道，就是因为你自己种的因，你才有这个果报。犹如医生治不好的病，难道都是医生的问题吗？一个人得了肝癌，喝酒喝的，医生说：“我现在给你动手术，给你吃药，帮你治疗。你千万不能再喝酒，不能再喝了。”你的酒瘾来了，憋不住又喝，那么病情恶化，再去看医生，好转后又喝酒，病情不断反复，最后死亡。你的病看不好，这是医生的问题，还是你自己本人没有配合治疗？</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">师父今天教你们学佛，尽心尽力给你们讲佛讲法，让你们好好做人，可是你们就是在贪瞋痴慢疑上过不来，还嘴硬：“我就小气，我就想不通，我就是这么执着。”那么，师父怎么能救你们？当你们受到报应的时候，能怪师父吗？所以说，伤害你们身体的是你们自己，伤害你们心灵的也是你们自己。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">人还有个毛病，一旦出现厄运，经常想：“为什么是我？为什么我会得到这个报应？”当你受苦受煎熬的时候，你要多想想你的前世、你的今生，你的前世做了多少恶事，你的今生又做了多少善事，你就会明白自己为什么受这个果报。因为你曾经犯下很多罪孽，而这些罪孽已经形成了一个业障点，这个业障点犹如火药，爆炸的那天就是你受报的时候。</span>

<span style="font-size: 20px;">一个人想要自主生死、自主人生，想要开悟解脱，就要从说话、思维和行为上开始检点自己，不要去种不好的因。要时刻提醒自己：“我不能再种恶因了！”跟别人吵一次，种一个恶因；吵两次，又种一个恶因；吵三次、四次、五次，吵的次数多了，时间长了，就种上了一个大恶缘，而这个恶缘不是一天两天能够消除的，它终有一天会爆发。当果报来临的时候，你就会痛苦不堪。所以，一个真正想超脱、求解脱的人，不会去做损人利己的事，而是经常会去帮助别人。有时候，一点财、一点名、一点利，能舍就舍，能让就让，能无所谓就无所谓，这样做，你就是在保护自己的慧命，你就是在种善因。</span>
